In total, about 200,000 Hoosiers volunteered to fight during the course of the American Civil War. The Secretary of War, Edwin Stanton, sent a personal note to Governor Oliver P. Morton to recognize Indiana's contribution: “Well Done, Indiana.” The show details the important military and political contributions Hoosiers made to the war.
