Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(camera bulbs flashing) - The costumes are reflecting Eliza's bright attitude.
This year, she's in love, so it's bringing out a different side of her character, perhaps.
(intriguing music) - Hello, everyone.
I'm Momirka Bailovic, costume designer for "Miss Scarlet."
And this is our extras costume area.
First thing I want to show you are dancers' costume that filmed yesterday, actually.
And we used corsets that we used for all seasons, actually, in different shapes and different styles.
We revamped them with this bronze this season.
Last season, we did feathers.
And we added more feathers for some of them, this season, as you can see.
(clapperboard clacking) - [Director] And action!
- [Momirka] To make this world actually as real as possible, we try to make each class, each person in the streets as real as it can be.
(intriguing music) - [Kate] It feels like Eliza's costume stands out from the crowd, really bright colors, the very sort of cinched in waist, and these flowing skirts.
The fabric itself is often this kind of heavy, but really floaty wool.
- Here we can see the example how we're making one of the dresses.
This is for our character, Lady Roberts.
And this is one of my favorite pieces this season.
This fabric, for example, I got from Germany.
And these brown bits, I bought here, and this is from Vienna, from Austria.
So, for me, it's always amazing that I have opportunity and privilege to work with fabrics from all over the world and to get it here together and make it in one beautiful piece, as this one.
And these lovely ladies, they made all these details.
As you can see, there's a lot of, lot of details, lot of hand work, lot of fine pieces around it.
- One thing, there's a constant debate about this, on a daily basis, when we're getting dressed.
Rather than using zips or anything that would be easy, (chuckles) we have these tiny little clasps and they're called like grandma, grandfather, or something in Serbia.
And it's like a little clip, little clip, little clip, and it honestly takes five minutes to put on a coat, just to kind of, these clasps.
So but I think that's a reflection of how Momirka and her team, they want everything to be done really properly and that you won't see a zip in any of my costumes, or Velcro, God forbid.
- I call this my empire because these fabrics are, again, some are bought here, some are imported from Germany, from Austria.
We made this dress from last season with these beautiful details that we got here.
I always dive in these fabrics and find something, and then get ideas how to make something.
So it's most beautiful and creative place, for me.
- [Director] And cut.
